Swetha Kowsik, M.D.

Swetha Kowsik, M.D.Dr. Kowsik was born and raised in Fremont, attending local schools and graduating from Mission San Jose High School. She then majored in Molecular Biology, with a minor in South Asian Studies at the University of California Berkeley. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and as an Alumni Leadership Scholar from UC Berkeley.

Eager to experience life outside of California, she attended medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. While in Chicago, she was a coordinator for the Children’s Uptown Clinic and founder of the Student Coalition Project- designed to promote racial awareness and dialogue among medical students.

With her quest for life outside of California satisfied, she attended the University of California, Irvine for her general pediatrics residency training. After completing residency last year, she worked as a general pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County.

Dr. Kowsik is very excited to return to her hometown and honored to contribute to the community that played such a vital role in her development. In her spare time, she enjoys world travel, the culinary arts and playing percussion instruments.

It is about providing guidance and support through illness and preventative care during times of good health. Being a pediatrician is an honor and I feel privileged to play such an important role in the lives of children and their families.”
