Physician Bio
I have practiced OB/GYN medicine in the Bay area since 1989 and in Fremont
since 1992. Many of the young women in my practice were delivered by me,
and I have traveled the journey from new mom to empty nester with their
mothers. It was a privilege to share the joy of new life with so many
wonderful patients.
Since 1999, my practice has been exclusively gynecology, and includes alternatives
to hysterectomy, family planning, and menopausal medicine. I enjoy the
collaborative relationship I have with each patient – addressing
her concerns and providing information so that she can make the health
care choices that most suit her needs. I am particularly interested in
the management and prevention of disease with nutrition, exercise and
stress management (lifestyle medicine). I believe that treatment of illness
is not enough. As a physician, my role is to promote wellness and to provide
women with the guidance that will allow them to achieve their best health.
I was honored to give the keynote address at the 2012 and 2014 Women’s
Healthcare Conferences at Washington Hospital. I have been teaching wellness
classes at Washington Hospital since 2014, including a free monthly educational
and support group called Women Empowering Women. I am a frequent speaker
at community events and address women’s health topics as well as
lifestyle change. I am proud to be on multiple Top Doctors and Best Doctors
lists since 1996.
I try to practice what I preach. I enjoy yoga, hiking and reading, and
I am a healthy but lazy cook.
