Amy Nguyen, PA-C completed her medical training from the University of
Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where she earned a Master’s degree
of Health Sciences and became board certified by the National Commission
on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also certified by the
California Physician Assistant Medical board.
Similar to a physician, Amy is able to evaluate and assess patients, formulate
diagnoses, order and review diagnostic imaging, prescribe medications/physical
therapy and make internal and external referrals to other providers. She
also assists our Orthopedic surgeons with numerous surgical inpatient
and outpatient procedures. Ultimately, it is her goal to help patients
develop a proper treatment plan that caters to their individual lifestyle
Prior to PA school Amy worked as a clinical research assistant in Pediatric
Orthopedics at the Colorado Children’s Hospital. She is co-author
on several orthopedic research studies involving intra-articular radial
head fractures, persistent median arteries, patella alta and cerebral
palsy. These studies were accepted to the Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics,
the Annual Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management conference and the
Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America conference.
Amy also holds a Master degree of Science emphasizing in Cancer Biology
and Oncology from Colorado State University. During her graduate career
she conducted and participated in several research studies involving lymphoma.
She graduated with honors when obtaining her undergraduate degree in Molecular,
Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado. She
also spent time working as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Amy continues to enjoy the Bay area but remains a proud Colorado native.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling, cooking, music, yoga, gardening,
surfing, skiing, pottery, running, photography, tennis and most especially
spending time with loved ones.
