Stacey Barrie, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

“In my role, I have a chance to be there for some of the most profound
moments in a woman’s life,” said Stacey Barrie, MD, who’s
been a part Washington Women’s Health Specialists for more than
20 years. “It’s a great job, and every day brings new beginnings.”
Dr. Barrie, who was born and raised in the Bay Area, has a passion for
her work––and for the community. “It’s very interesting
to provide care in such a multicultural environment,” said Dr. Barrie,
a mom of two who lives in Fremont. “Everyone in our practice is
sensitive to different cultures and lifestyles.” she added. “We
all understand how diversity can play a big role in pregnancy, child care
and overall women’s health.”
Dr. Barrie received a degree in biology from the University of California,
San Diego, followed by completion of medical school at Saint Louis University
School of Medicine in St, Louis, Missouri. Afterwards, she returned to
California to complete her residency at the University of California,
Davis. Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Barrie is a fellow of the
American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
“I love my job,” said Dr. Barrie, “especially the patient
interaction. It’s also tremendously gratifying when I have a chance
to care for multiple generations of women within the same family.”
That care includes any issue related to obstetrics and gynecology, including
contraceptive management and reproductive services.
She said it’s really an exciting time for Washington Women’s
Health Specialists. “We have a very state-of-the-art practice,”
she explained, “and there are lots of interesting developments ahead
for diagnostic testing. Plus, we have a wonderful
affiliation with UCSF Health, which includes the management of high-risk complications at birth––and
also our Washington Special Care Nursery for babies born a bit too early.”
Preventive care. Diagnostic services. Minimally invasive surgery and more.
Dr. Barrie and Washington Women’s Health Specialists continue to
lead the way in high-quality, compassionate care for Bay Area women.
