Our Flu Shot Locations for the 2019-20 Flu Season
The 2019-20 "flu season" is here. Flu is, of course, a very serious
illness that can be fatal. The flu season sees different risks each year,
and certain people are at higher risks than others. Every year, millions
of people contract the flu. Of these individuals, hundreds of thousands
are hospitalized, and thousands die. Not only the very young, very old,
or immune system-compromised are at risk. Even if you are healthy, you
could experience severe complications rising from the flu. The smartest
and most effective way to protect yourself is to get immunized yearly
with the flu vaccine recommended for that flu season––and
our Washington Township Medical Foundation clinics are here to help.
(We currently have availability of the flu vaccine up through age 64.)
Who Should Get the Flu Shot?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that every
individual aged 6 months and older get the annual flu shot every year,
with only rare exceptions. During some years, the nasal spray flu vaccine
may be an alternative option to the shot. It is best to get the vaccine
as soon as possible when it becomes available. The vaccine for 2019-20
flu season has been released, and should still be available January or
later. If it is still being offered, it is not too late to get immunized.
