Internal Medicine Treatments
Treatments at Washington Township Medical Foundation
At Washington Township Medical Foundation, our aim is to provide the treatments
necessary for our communities’ diverse needs, developing treatment
plans in conjunction with patients and their healthcare providers suited
to their unique and individual needs as opposed to an overly generalized
process that discounts the importance of the patient’s involvement
and preference. Our patient-centric approach ensures that those we serve
feel heard and cared for, as we facilitate their wellbeing through a variety
of preventative care services and more.

What Are Doctors of Internal Medicine?
Doctors of internal medicine are also called internists. These physicians
provide comprehensive care in the area of adult medicine. The name “internal
medicine” is misleading for some, as these physicians do not limit
their practice to the area of internal conditions or issues but rather
treat patients as a whole, providing whole-patient treatment and diagnosis
of conditions that affect any system or organ in the body.
Internists provide care for their patients throughout their lives, starting
in their late teenage years. Many people confuse internists with family
practitioners, but there are several important distinctions, including
the three years of rigorous study focused solely on adult medicine that
an internist must undergo. In addition, internists do not practice surgery,
deliver babies, or provide care for children.
