Chiari Malformation

Chiari malformation is a condition in which brain tissue protrudes into the spinal canal. It occurs when a portion of the skull is abnormally small or misshapen, pressing on the brain and forcing it downward. Although Chiari malformation is uncommon, it’s now diagnosed more frequently, largely due to improved imaging tests and can cause headaches or weakness of the arms or legs.
