“I am proud to be part of the very cohesive and collaborative group
of professionals we have at Washington Women’s Health Specialists,”
said Sudeepthi Prasad, MD, who has been a part of the practice since 2008.
“Each member of our team is totally committed to guiding women to
their best possible health.”
Dr. Prasad graduated from Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore, India.
Later, she worked as a Research Study Coordinator at Stanford University
Medical Center, and then completed an internship in family medicine at
the University of Nevada School of Medicine. “That experience led
me to decide on obstetrics and gynecology as a specialty,” said
Dr. Prasad, who went on to complete her residency there. She is a fellow of the
American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and member of the
American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
At Washington Women’s Health Specialists, Dr. Prasad focuses on the
full spectrum of OB/GYN issues. Her primary clinical interests include
minimally invasive surgery and menopause. “Whether delivering babies
or providing routine gynecologic care, my goal is to help women be healthy
during all phases of life,” said Dr. Prasad, whose patients range
in age from the teens to the 90s. “Our approach to care, regardless
of age, embraces the importance of shared decision making and lots of
patient education.”
That education includes some always-timely advice. “I tell patients
to take time for themselves and their family,” she explained. “In
addition, I encourage them to remember both routine and preventive care,
as well as the importance of positive lifestyle choices––from
eating healthy to exercising to using appropriate contraception and more.”
She said she loves practicing in Fremont and raising her daughter in such
a diverse and invigorating community. When away from work, she enjoys
running, yoga, cooking, traveling and spending time with family.
“It’s a tremendous privilege when patients choose me as their
doctor,” Dr. Prasad said. “My greatest source of professional
satisfaction is in the personal connection I feel with women as they share
the milestones of their lives—adolescence, childbirth, midlife and
menopause. It’s really an honor to be a part of this very important
journey.”
