Our general orthopaedic services include:
-
Arthritis Treatment – Studies show that more than 33% of adults experience arthritis,
which causes stiff, immobile, and painful joints. There are more than
100 different forms of arthritic diseases. Your doctor can work with you
to find the appropriate treatment plan. Options may include anti-inflammatory
medications coupled with assistive devices. Your doctor may also advise
weight loss and an exercise plan in some cases. Cortisone injections can
also be helpful. Some arthritis cases are so severe that they require
surgical treatment such as a joint replacement procedure.
-
Arthroscopic Surgery – Arthroscopic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery that
allows a patient to receive surgical treatment through much smaller incisions
than those utilized in traditional open surgery. The fiber-optic arthroscope
instrument is inserted through the small incision for diagnosis or treatment.

-
Biceps Tendon Rupture – Tendon rupture can often damage the biceps tendon, at either end.
With age, injury, or overuse, the tendon can suffer inflammation or tearing.
Symptoms include pain, weakness, bruising, and misshapenness. Thorough
tears could require surgical repair. In less severe cases, more conservative
forms of treatment will most likely be recommended.
-
Cartilage Repair Surgery – Cartilage facilitates movement, and cartilage damage can cause
serious pain and loss of mobility. Our surgeons provide techniques used
to treat cartilage damage. Examples include autologous chondrocyte implantation
and osteochondral autograft transplant (OATS).
-
Corticosteroids – Corticosteroids are often used to treat patients who have been
diagnosed with disorders such as arthritis, irritable bowel disease, lupus,
and scleroderma. These treatments come in injections, optical applications,
or oral applications.
-
Nerve Block – Patients experiencing severe pain may benefit from a nerve block.
This occurs when a material such as phenol or alcohol is injected in or
around the nerve. This stops pain signals from being sent to the brain.
