About Dr. Liu

Jet Liu, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery, and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Liu earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, in El Paso, Texas. He finished his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and went on to receive his fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland (Ohio) Clinic. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Liu's primary focus is to help patients improve their ability to perform desired activities in all age groups. "I like to carefully listen to my patients and understand their goals," said Dr. Liu, "and form a personalized treatment plan. Most orthopaedic conditions can be improved with non-surgical treatments, so we reserve surgery for those who have exhausted all other options." Dr. Liu is well-trained in a variety of surgical techniques, ranging from minimally invasive to multi-planar external fixation. "My goal is to select the best treatment approach for each patient," added Dr. Liu, "and to do so in an individualized fashion. No two patients are alike."

A native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Liu is also conversational in Spanish. He is passionate about helping the underserved, and he has consistently volunteered his expertise in mission trips to Central America. In addition, he has been published widely and has been a presenter at national conferences. Away from work, Dr. Liu relishes being outdoors, and his hobbies include running, biking, basketball and calisthenics. He also enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family––including his corgi, Met.
