About Wajeeha Khan

Wajeeha Khan, M.S., LMFT, is an experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who joined Washington Township Medical Foundation in October 2021.

She earned a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Community Counseling from California State University, East Bay. Wajeeha's passion for leading empathetic community care led her to complete Ph.D. courses in Organizational Leadership (currently ABD), and she is registered as an LMFT with the California Behavioral Board of Sciences.

Her experience is deep. Wajeeha has been serving the Alameda County community with mental health support for over 20 years. She began her work experience at Crisis Support Services of Alameda County in 1998 as crisis counselor, then continued her work experience in non-profit, community-based medication clinics, health centers, schools and counseling agencies. Additionally, she has a background in child development, applied behavioral analysis, and elderly community care.

She has an interest in providing coaching and clinical supervision for therapist interns. Wajeeha has provided community educational podcasts, interviews, and radio talks about mental health and coping techniques. She speaks fluent Urdu and has been working with the Latinx community for over 10 years. Her style and therapy approach is mainly strength-based, client-centered, and focused on empowerment.

Away from work, Wajeeha likes cooking, painting, writing, movies, spending time with her family and friends, and going to comedy shows. The mom of 20- and 18-year-old boys is also a passionate traveler who truly appreciates a walk in nature and the viewing of a sunset.

"I am thrilled to be a part of Washington Township Medical Foundation," she said. "Everyone has welcomed me to this very dynamic community, and I am excited to play an important role in assisting people with the dynamics of their relationships."
