Physician Bio
Dr. Sangeetha Balakrishnan is a Cardiologist who has been practicing in
Fremont since 2011. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology,
and she is certified in Nuclear Cardiology. A native of Fremont, CA, she
went to the Midwest to earn her medical degree at the Medical College
of Wisconsin. Dr. Balakrishnan then completed her residency in Internal
Medicine and her fellowships in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology
at the University of Rochester in New York. Having lived in snow country
for a decade, she relocated back to California to start her private practice.
What intrigues Dr. Balakrishnan about Cardiology most is the hemodynamics
of the heart, which is the physiology that the heart needs to pump blood
throughout the entire body; the fact that the heart is the epicenter of
the human body and its health affects every other organ. She is well-versed
in the studies used to pinpoint abnormalities and in the procedures that
keep the heart beating normally. Dr. Balakrishnan’s special interests
in cardiology include cardiac arrhythmias and preventive cardiology. She
enjoys her relationships with her patients and thinks of their care as
a team partnership. In her free time, Dr. Balakrishnan likes to travel,
read, and spend time with her family.
