Physician Bio
Dr. William E. Dugoni, Jr. is a 4th generation San Franciscan, specializing
in general and oncologic surgery and is a member of Washington Township
Medical Foundation in Fremont. He is a graduate of University of California
San Francisco Medical School. He found an interest in surgery at UCSF
while doing his surgery rotation at San Francisco General Hospital. He
trained further under the auspices of Dr. William Blaisdell, the influential
surgical educator at the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Dugoni has been an avid supporter of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation.
In his work as both a surgeon and Director of Washington Hospital Healthcare
System’s Women’s Center, he has been a partner in providing
the best care possible for breast cancer patients.
William “Bill” was the Patient’s Choice award winner
for 2008, 2009 and 2010 as well as being one of the top graduates of his
Medical School class at UCSF. Other accomplishments include his 1991 appointment
as a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons and his Board of Certified
Surgeons affiliation. He also currently serves as the President of the
Washington Outpatient Surgery Center Board of Directors, Trustee for the
Washington Foundation and Director of the Washington Hospital Surgical
Hospitalist Program.
Bill is married and the father of four children, a daughter and three sons.
For many years he coached youth sports with a particular interest in baseball
and basketball. Aside from his family and his patients, one of his greatest
passions is his love of climbing. In the future he hopes to travel to
and climb several of the world’s major mountain peaks.
