About Dr. Rose

Dr. Rose is an expert in neurointensive care and cerebrovascular disease and was among the first 100 physicians in the world to become Board Certified in Neurocritical Care. He is also Board Certified in Neurology as well as Vascular Neurology. In early 2014, Dr. Rose was recruited by Washington Township Medical Foundation to augment Washington Hospital’s comprehensive stroke and neurosurgical programs, especially in cerebrovascular neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology. Prior to joining WTMF, Dr. Rose was Medical Director of Neurocritical Care at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, where he also directed CPMC’s Neurocritical Care fellowship and Dartmouth’s affiliated medical student neurology clerkship programs. For his passion towards and efforts in student education at CPMC, Dr. Rose was appointed to the faculty of Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth as Assistant Professor of Neurology.

Dr. Rose received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, where he focused on both molecular neuroscience and bioethics. He then returned to his native New York and worked before and during medical school in the neuroscience laboratory of Nobel Laureate Eric R. Kandel, M.D., at Columbia University’s Center of Neurobiology and Behavior. After obtaining his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Rose next received his medical and neurological training at New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Neurological Institute, where he was selected as Chief Resident. A two-year Neurocritical Care fellowship at University of California San Francisco followed, bringing Dr. Rose and his growing family back to the Bay Area.
