About Alyssa Thompson-Tucker

Alyssa Thompson-Tucker, FNP, is a licensed and boarded-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a Master of Science in nursing and Doctoral of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Massachusetts Medical School. Her work experience includes: UMass Memorial Medical Center, MA; Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MA; Reliant Medical Group, MA; Edward M. Kennedy Community Center, MA; Kindbody, CA; and UCSF-Student Health & Counseling Services, CA. She now practices at Washington Township Medical Foundation as one of our nurse practitioners at Orthopedics and Physiatry.

Alyssa’s philosophy of care is to provide holistic, evidence-based treatment to patients and place an emphasis on shared decision making during a visit. It was in graduate school where she was first influenced by Orthopedic Medicine. This led to her seeking a career in wanting to promote wellness and reduce pain—furthered by her background as a certified yoga instructor.

What drew Alyssa into Physiatry, a subset of orthopedics, was her fascination and interest in the body’s healing after injury or trauma. Using a fact-based approach, she partners with patients to recommend therapies and interventions that will not only heal, but also optimize the bodies’ physical strength, flexibility, and longevity.

In Alyssa’s free time, she enjoys being outside surrounded by nature, a good book, and spending time with friends and family.
