About Joshua Amano

Joshua Amano, PA-C, is a nationally certified and state-licensed Physician Assistant practicing in the Vascular Surgery department at Washington Township Medical Foundation.

Having grown up in Southern California, Josh graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Physiological Science. After leading several short-term medical mission trips to Tegucigalpa, Honduras and helping run a street-side mobile clinic for the homeless in West Hollywood, Josh decided to pursue further medical training as a Physician Assistant. He graduated with a Master of Medical Science degree from the Yale Physician Assistant Online Program and completed some of his clinical training at Washington Hospital in Fremont during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. His approach to patient care? “I believe everyone deserves to be heard,” said Josh, who wants patients to walk away feeling understood and cared for like family. “Medicine can be an intimidating and stressful experience for many,” he added, “and that’s why I always try to explain things in accessible language. Patients should walk away with a good grasp of what our plan is––together––and feel like they were part of the process, rather than being thrown into a flurry of medical jargon.”

He joined Washington Township Medical Foundation in September 2020. “I am really drawn to and impressed by the people,” he told us. “Everyone from the patients to providers to the medical assistants all carry a standard of professionalism and warmth I did not find anywhere else. It’s really a great community.”

In his free time, Josh enjoys trying new cuisines, leading the music ministry at his church, and spending time with his wife and son. He currently lives in Santa Clara, California.
