About Dr. Suri

Dr. Krishna Suri is board-certified in Internal Medicine with a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences at University of North Texas HSC, Fort Worth, Texas. He earned his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Suri’s postdoctoral journey then led to him completing his residency in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, McAllen, Texas. Finally, his Palliative Medicine fellowship took place at Case Western University Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. With his formal education and training completed, Dr. Suri became an attending at Case Western University Hospital. After some time in that role, he joined at Washington Township Medical Foundation as one of our palliative care providers.

Dr. Suri’s philosophy of care is that “care does not end at the prescription.” He adds that having this outlook pushes him in his line of work and encourages him to spend a great deal of time with his patients and their families. This approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of his patient’s care needs and to what extent their support system is. Those connections that are made naturally from spending time with his patients and loved ones are what drive Dr. Suri to keep going in his field.

Dr. Suri chose palliative care because of his experiences that he saw firsthand during his training in South Texas. The patient population was largely underserved with high socioeconomic barriers to care – doubly so with the harsh realities that COVID had also hit an already vulnerable population. Being engrossed in that suffering, made Dr. Suri realize the need to minimize pain and harm, and to improve patient care.

In his free time, Dr. Suri is usually absorbed in something that has a competitive element to it, such as basketball, football or videogames.
