About Shaina-Jill Balayan

Shaina-Jill Balayan, PNP, (Shaina) is a licensed and board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR. Shaina’s previous professional experience includes roles in both primary care and COVID-19 testing. Examples of her service include serving as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Brighter Beginnings Family Health Clinic (FQHC), a COVID-19 Testing Nurse Practitioner at Instant Urgent Care in Dublin, CA, and as a Pediatric Home Health Nurse at Nursingale, Portland, OR. She now practices at Washington Township Medical Foundation as part of our Pediatrics care team.

Shaina’s philosophy of care revolves around establishing open communication, fostering trust, and collaborating with families to ensure optimal outcomes for their child’s health. This philosophy of care goes in parallel with Shaina’s personal belief that all children deserve happy and healthy lives – anything she can do to aid and achieve that, is welcomed.

What drew Shaina towards pediatrics was her enjoyment of working with children, teens, and young adults. One of the most rewarding aspects of this field includes the privilege of sharing the journey with a child’s parents and witnessing their growth and life milestones, such as transitioning from of elementary school to junior high, learning how to drive, attending prom, or applying to college. Shaina considers it extremely rewarding to build long-term relationships between care providers, patients, and their families.

In Shaina’s free time, she enjoys traveling to explore different cultures, all things Disney-related, and the Harry Potter series.
