About Sonia Torres-Ramos

Sonia Torres-Ramos, PA-C, is a nationally certified physician assistant with a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University in Public Health. She then earned her Master of Health Services degree from University of California, Davis in Physician Assistant Studies. Her educational journey transitioned professionally into multiple clinical rotations around the state of California prior to her arrival here at Washington Township Medical Foundation as one of our health care providers at Nakamura Clinic in Union City.

Sonia, chose family medicine because of the privilege to see a wide range of patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. Additionally, family medicine allows for the establishment of deeper rapport between herself and patients – this allows her to be part of an individual’s long-term health plan and become a trusted partner in their health care needs. Sonia wanted to become a physician assistant because of her personal passion for medicine and internal drive to help others. All of these pair well with her belief that “if patients can understand their medical diagnosis and are provided the proper tools to help manage it, we will see more positive health outcomes.”

In her free time, Sonia stays active and is continuously motivated by her Jack Russel-Chihuahua mix. Together they explore new trails and parks around the Bay Area and Northern California.
