Dr. Jolly is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. He completed his
medical school training at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, MP, India and Cardiothoracic
training in India. He had a private practice for ten years in India and
then worked in Australia for two years prior to coming to the United States.
He then completed residencies in General Surgery and Fellowships in Cardiothoracic
Surgery in Cleveland, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Following his
training, Dr. Jolly most recently served as Attending Cardiothoracic Surgeon
at Sanford Hospital, in Fargo, North Dakota. It is the weather that draws
him to California.
Dr. Jolly enjoys the challenge of cardiothoracic surgery which he has been
practicing for the past 16 years. He has expertise in a wide spectrum
of procedures including robotic surgery and thoracoscopy procedures. Well-versed
in the surgical intricacies of the cardiothoracic region, he has performed
over 500 heart surgeries in the past four years, including CABGs, AVR.
MVR, MV repair, combined CABGs and valves, Aortic root abscess drainage
and patching, Aortic root enlargement, Bental procedure, aortic aneurysms
and dissections, BIVADS, Myxoma excision and Maze procedure. His lung
cases, over 550 procedures, have included Wedge resections, Brachymesh
placement, lobectomies, VATS, decortications, thymectomy, chestwall resection
and reconstructions, Esophagectomy, Zenker’s diverticulectom repair,
Heller’s myotomy, and Hiatal hernia repair.
While practicing at Sanford Hospital, Dr. Jolly received the Heart of Gold
Award and Golden Stethoscope Awards in 2011, as well as the Guardian Angel
Award in 2012. He earned his board certification in Surgery in 2008 and
Thoracic Surgery in 2010. Although cardiothoracic surgery is his primary
interest, he also enjoys cooking, travel, and spending time with his wife,
Chitra, and his beloved dog, Rosie.
