Patient Testimonials
In the patient care stories below, members of our community provide real-life
examples of the world-class care at Washington Township Medical Foundation.
Washington Women's Health Specialists

“For many years, Dr. Barrie and her team have been a fantastic resource
for me and my family,” said Kathy Miedema, a busy mom of two from
Union City. She’s discussing the work of
Stacey Barrie, MD, an obstetrician-gynecologist at
Washington Women’s Health Specialists. “She’s always sensitive to my concerns, has a wonderful bedside
manner, and really wants to know how I am doing,” Kathy told us.
“Now, with my daughters growing up. I know they’ll benefit
from Dr. Barrie’s extraordinary kindness and expertise. I just cannot
think of a doctor who cares more deeply about their patients.”
Bell Neuroscience Institute of Silicon Valley
Richard Young of Fremont had severe cervical stenosis––a narrowing
of the space between vertebrae in his spine, which resulted in a compression
and pinching of nerves around the spinal cord. Referrals led him to neurosurgeon
Eldan Eichbaum, MD, at Washington Township Medical Foundation. “All the glowing reviews
made one thing clear,” Richard recalled. “Dr. Eichbaum was
very respected by the medical community, so I knew I made the right choice.”
The surgery was a success. “I cannot say enough about the wonderful
way I was treated,” Richard told us. “Everyone on Dr. Eichbaum’s
team showed me respect and kindness, and they really prepared me for the
whole experience. I am very, very grateful.” More at

Surgery

In
this video, patient Jenifer Hampton discusses her lumpectomy, which is the surgical
removal of a discrete portion or “lump” of breast tissue.
She turned to Washington Township Medical Foundation surgeon
William Dugoni, MD, for the procedure. “Everyone’s been very helpful, everyone’s
been very kind,” said Jenifer of her successful surgery. She also
highlighted the care provided by the
Washington Women’s Center. “Breast cancer is so fixable and so curable if treated early,”
said Dr. Dugoni, “and we encourage women to seek early diagnosis
through screenings and mammograms.” As a surgeon and as Director
of Washington Hospital Healthcare System’s Women’s Center,
Dr. Dugoni has been a leader in providing the best care possible for breast
cancer patients.
Mental Illness
This video feature highlights patients and their experience with
Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Washington Township Medical Foundation. Our
Seema Sehgal, MD, discusses different types of anxiety disorders, including panic disorders,
generalized anxiety disorders, and phobia-related disorders. Patients
such as Paul Areias had schizophrenia combined with depressive symptoms.
He said the support and expertise of Dr. Sehgal, along with family and
friends, enabled him to successfully return to his work.
