and spinal tap / lumbar puncture.
Imaging Scans – Imaging techniques may be used in studying and diagnosing infectious
diseases, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography
(CT) scans, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, optical modalities, and radiography.
Biopsies – Biopsies involve examination of tissue removed from the patient
in order to learn about a disease that may be present.
